Favorite Affordable Beauty Products of 2018

I wanted to dedicate an entire post to my most reached for/favorite beauty products of 2018. I use mainly drugstore makeup because seriously, who can afford a full face from Sephora as a college student? Definitely not me and I’m sure the majority of you. I think that if you really read reviews and do some research you can find makeup at the drugstore whose quality and application is comparable to higher end products, but at a fraction of the price.

If you would like me to devote another full post on affordable fashion favorites or skincare favorites I can totally do that- just make sure to leave me a comment 🙂 I know that when I did a monthly favorites post a few months back many of you really liked that so let me know if you guys would be interested in more monthly favorites posts in the future.

This is a college lifestyle blog after all so I love sharing with you all things that I love that you might want to look into or have already been searching for. Ok so enough talk- let’s get into my most reached for makeup products of 2018 that I highly recommend:foundation

1. Favorite Foundation: Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup

This Neutrogena foundation is amazing! I get compliments on how fresh and radiant my face looks every time I wear it- no joke. I have no idea what is in this foundation, but it literally brings life back into the skin. It is on the dewy side so if you have oily skin this may not be the best foundation for you.

I have combination skin and this foundation works completely fine if I set it with a powder during warmer months.

I don’t wear foundation every day- I don’t even wear makeup every day- but on the days that I did wear a foundation this year this was the foundation I reached for most. The consistency is highly buildable (I would say its a light to medium coverage foundation) and it has SPF 20.powder

2. Favorite Powder: Rimmel London Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder

How can a $4 powder perform so well? I do not know. This powder doesn’t have the best packaging for travel because of the lid it has, but it’s a great powder to set foundation and concealer with every morning. what I love about this powder is that it doesn’t feel cakey or clog up my pores- it’s very lightweight, but it still does the job. Highly recommend!

3. Favorite Bronzer: NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny

This NYC matte bronzer is $0.99 and it works so well. When I first heard about this bronzer and how affordable it was from a friend I thought it would for sure break me out or something, but it doesn’t. The compact comes with a built in mirror which is nice and great for the on the go application.

The color of the bronzer better suits lighter skin tones and does NOT come off orangey the way other drugstore bronzers do. I love using this bronzer to add some warmth and that sun kissed glow to my otherwise pale face.

4. Best Blush: Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso

A drugstore dupe for Nars’ famous blush in the color Orgasm (what is up with that name Nars btw?) that performs even better- yes, Luminoso (a coral blush that has a bit of a highlighting quality to it) is just that amazing. This has been my most reached for blush this year as it makes the cheeks look flushed and glowy, but not shiny or full of glitter.

The shade Luminoso fits so many different skin tones and looks great with many different makeup looks. Seriously guys, if you want an amazing blush that would look great year round- check this one out. You will not be disappointed.

5. Favorite Eyeshadow Palette: Wet ‘n Wild Walking on Eggshells

The consistency, creaminess, and amount of product in this Wet ‘n Wild palette is unbelievable. I believe it retails for 2 or 3 dollars yet people have asked me countless times this year if my eyeshadow was from one of the $52 Naked Palettes!

The pinky champagne color in this palette is gorgeous as an all over the lid shade. With these colors I can easily complete my eye look in under a minute. I find that these eyeshadows apply beautifully with the fingers. A definite must try if you enjoy playing around with eyeshadow, but can never afford one of the more expensive palettes out there right now.

6. Favorite Eyeliner: Covergirl Perfect Point Plus

It’s creamy, glides on easily, doesn’t need to be sharpened (it’s a twistable) – not much more to say; it gets the job done and that’s what counts, right?

7. Favorite Lip Product: Burts Bees Ultra Moisturizing Lip Treatment with Kokum butter

This product is kind of a mix of a chapstick and a lip gloss. Great product just to throw on before heading out the door that adds a bit of shine to the lips. I also love this product because it’s 100% natural and cruelty free and I have been slowly trying to use more and more natural products this year.

That’s it for this post! Leave me a comment letting me know your favorite drugstore makeup products this year 🙂
